Domain name registration at free of cost:

Once you have registered a suitable domain name on the World Wide Web, you'll receive a unique identity for yourself, or the company/brand you represent.

Since many companies share similar names, it's very important to register a relevant domain name for your own personal or business needs as soon as possible. Currently, the most popular domain names on the Internet are the .com domains.

GlowHost :Free Domain Name Registration

What's this all about?
Right now on selected plans GlowHost is giving away, absolutely free, the Domain name of your choice, just as our little way of saying "Thanks" for signing up with us as your web hosting provider. All you need to do is maintain your web hosting with us to take advantage of the free Domain name offer, and your domain is free for life! Reseller web hosting does not include a frree domain name. Try domain registration at Instapro.net or get your own free domain name reseller account and register them using the discounted pricing available.

Why are you giving away free domain names?
Simple. We believe that if you choose Glowhost as your web hosting provider, you will be so happy with the features and service that we provide, that you will have no reason to switch to another provider for your hosting and domain name needs. because of this, as our way of saying thanks, we actually purchase and renew your domain name, free, for the life of the web site.

Sounds great! How do I claim my free Domain Name?
All that you need to do is sign up for any qualified shared web hosting plan. Once we have your first payment, we will send you the link to the site where you can register the free domain name.

So what other hidden fees or contracts are there?
We will make this simple, NONE! And there is no further obligation by you to stay with us. If you decide that you want to take your domain and switch to another provider, be our guest. As a matter of fact, you can take the domain today and host elsewhere if you like! (yeah, we just might be crazy...)

I already own my domain, can you offer me some other incentive?
No problem. If you own your own Domain we suggest you transfer your domain to our sister site, InstaPro.net. Doing this ensures your domain will renew at $9.00 or less per year. The domain transfer includes a free one year extension on your domain renewal. All the time remaining on your existing registration is transferred to InstaPro. This means if you still have 2 years left on your domain name registration, that when you transfer the domain registration to InstaPro, you will get those 2 years, plus an additional free year, and the transfer all for $9.00 (or less if specials are available). You do not need to be a GlowHost customer to take part in the $9.00 domain transfer offer. Sound good? There is more! GlowHost.com will credit your hosting account full price of the domain transfer to InstaPro.net when you host with us and request the credit within 30 days of the transfer.

Is the free domain name registered in my name or yours?
The domain is absolutely, completely and totally registered in your name. We have nothing to do with it (Except of course making sure you get it for free!) Beware other hosts that claim a "free domain" as more often than not they register it in their name, then make you purchase it for a high price or enforce a lengthy contract to change the registration to your name. GlowHost does not resort to shady tactics to keep our customers. The domain is yours, plain and simple.

What domain extensions are available?
Currently we offer .com, .net, .org, as free domains.

If you have a question regarding this AMAZING OFFER, feel free to join up with us in our newly-launched pre-sales forum. Registration is not required to post. If you have any questions, just ask! You may also contact us using more traditional means. Feel free to email or call the sales department.

Web directories can really boost your traffic

I believe that web directories can help you a lot to drive traffics for your website. So it is important to submit your site to your desired directories.

If you did what I suggested above, your site should now be ready to be submitted to different directories. But how does this happen? Well, first you'll of course have to pick the directories you're going to submit to. The most important ones your site should get into are Yahoo and DMOZ, also known as Open Directory. You can, and should, read more about their individual features from their own sections on this site.

What about the other directories? Well, there are a few other interesting ones you might want to submit to, but they are far less important than the "big two" above. Do submit to them if possible, but focus on Yahoo and DMOZ, since they provide way more traffic.

OK, now you know where you should submit to. But how do you actually submit? It is relatively simple. Nearly all directories consist of different categories and subcategories, each consisting of sites related to the name of the category. You'll just need to find the category (or more often, subcategory) that best fits the topic of your site.

This can be done by either browsing through the directory or by doing a search on the keyword that best describes your site - often the directory will return a few categories that are relevant to your site and you'll just need to choose the one that seems to be most accurate. Usually, it is best to submit to the most detailed category that applies to your site; if your site is about programming in C++, you should submit to >Computers>Programming>C++ instead of >Computers>Programming>.

It is wise to spend some time to search the most accurate category for your site, since submissions done to the wrong categories are usually just thrown out. In addition, the category you submit to will be the category you're going to be stuck with for the rest of your site's life, and getting stuck in the wrong category might cost you some heavy traffic.

The submission process
After you've found the right category for your site, it is time to move on to the actual submitting process. This is an even more delicate part than the last one, so keep on your toes. The first thing to do is to carefully read the directory's rules and instructions on how to submit. They are usually displayed when you are beginning the submission process. Read them over a couple of times and follow them to the letter.

Nearly all directories will ask you to give the title of your site and a description of it when you are submitting. Put some thought in creating these, because they can significantly boost or reduce the amount of traffic you'll get from the directory. When writing your description, don't stuff it with words like 'best' or 'cheapest', and don't use ALL CAPITAL LETTERS. Write a short (15-25 words) description that accurately describes your site, and try to make it sound like an impartial review.

It would be also a good idea to check how the descriptions of the other sites in the same category are written and use them as a model. If possible, make sure that one or two of your best keywords are included in the description, but don't just stuff them there. Your description should sound like it's a natural sentence. If the editor thinks your description is little more than a list of keywords, he'll reject it and write a new one that may not include even a single keyword. Having one or two of your most important keywords in your description often helps your site to be found when a user searches the directory instead of browsing it.

If you later decide that the description you entered the first time isn't good enough, it is possible to contact most directories and try to get your description changed to a better one. Unfortunately, it is usually very difficult and very time-consuming to get directories to change the description of your site at a later date. Thus, it is heavily recommended that you try and get it right the first time.

Your title should be brief, it is not a place to list all your products and services. If possible, the title should include your most important keyword in it and start with a letter that is near the beginning of the alphabet. 'Automobile World' is better than 'World of Automobiles', because many directories list sites in alphabetical order and getting listed near the top can boost your traffic from the directory.

Since the title MUST be the official title of the site and it must be used on your pages, this might require you to change the name of your site. In addition to this, the title must sound like it just happens to start with a letter near the beginning of the alphabet, or it will get edited. The actual title of this site is 'A Promotion Guide', but Yahoo listed me as 'Promotion Guide, A', since the Yahoo editor thought the 'A' was included just to get to the top of the list. The same rules that apply to the description apply to the title - no promotional hype, no all capital letters.

After you have entered all the information, remember to check it for any possible typos or errors in spelling. Be extra careful with your URL, since a typo in it would naturally result in your site never getting reviewed. Then, say a quick prayer (in the case of Yahoo, at least two prayers) and hit the submit button. Good luck!

You'll usually get an E-mail if your site is accepted, but rarely if it is rejected. It is thus sometimes hard to know whether your site has been reviewed and rejected or if it is still unreviewed. If you don't get an E-mail after a few days and your site has not appeared to the directory, don't panic. Wait a few weeks until resubmitting your site; many directories are flooded with submissions and will get annoyed if you don't give them enough time to process the submission.

Top 20 ways to get huge traffic for your site.

This article will help you a lot to drive huge traffic to your site. So I collect this article for my community members. I thank to the author, Penny C. Sansevieri, CEO and founder of Author Marketing Experts, Inc., is a book marketing and media relations expert whose company has developed some of the most cutting-edge book marketing campaigns. Please read this article very carefully and follow this tips. This will help to earn money from blogging by getting huge visitors.

1) Write articles: believe it or not this is an incredible tool for driving traffic. Well-written, relevant articles can net quite a bit of activity to your web site. Don't forget to add your URL in your byline. Articles should be 500 to 2,000 words in length. You can send articles to sites like: Article City, GoArticles, Submit Your Articles and Ezine Articles.

2) Social bookmark *everything* - and I do mean everything - you can bookmark each page of your site and each blog entry you post. While this might seem tedious, it's worth it. You'll see a strong increase in traffic if you social bookmark each page on your site and each of your blog entries.

3) List yourself in the best directories – you'll have to pay for this but since most people don't do this (since everyone's looking for a freebie) you could really enhance your traffic by getting a listing: dir dot yahoo dot com, business dot org, botw dot org.

4) Get yourself listed at: DMOZ dot org
– it's not easy to get listed there, but worth the effort.

5) Review:
if you can review hot new products or books within your market, head on over to Amazon and start positioning yourself as an expert. In order to do this effectively you'll want to create an Amazon profile and make sure and sign each review with a reference to your URL (your web site). You can also go to Epinions and Revoo to review products as well.

6) Offer a freebie on Craig's List:
you'll be amazed at how much traffic you get from a single Craig's List ad. The key here is to send people to a page on your site and make sure they have to sign up for something (like your email newsletter) before they can grab their freebie. That way you're not just getting traffic, you're also building your list.

7) Create a "recommended by" list on your Delicious page
– you can do this by logging on and creating an account and there and then tagging articles, blogs and other content you think is important to your readership. Then offer this page as a resource site. You can add a link to this page in your email signature line or on your web site.

8) And speaking of your email signature line...
do you have one? If you don't, create one. Believe it or not, people do follow these links. You'll be amazed how many folks read email signature lines. I have one and change it several times a year, depending on what we're doing or promoting or what books I have coming out.

9) Lend a helping hand:
you can be an answer person at Yahoo Answers – you don't have to spend hours on there, but maybe a few minutes a week. Make sure and include a link back to your site following your answers.

10) Set up a social networking site
using Facebook, LinkedIn, or Squidoo. It's free and easy to do, just don't forget the all-important link back to your site!

11) Make sure your blog has an RSS feed
so if you capture a reader you don't lose them if they forget to bookmark your site or blog.

12) Join relevant groups at Yahoo groups. You'll find everything from groups on growing your small business, writing books, finding your passion, even underwater basket weaving. I dare you to find one that isn't right for what you're promoting. When you do find the right group, join and participate as you can!

13) Podcasting is another great way to drive traffic.
Start a podcast by going to Audio Acrobat. There are other programs you can use, but I love Audio Acrobat. You can record the podcast over the phone quickly and easily and then hit the "send" button on your computer once it's recorded and the system will syndicate it to 27 podcast directories including iTunes. It's a great way to let people know about you and your web site!

14) Start a blog and then once you do,
start commenting on other people's blogs, linking to them from your site or adding them to your blogroll.

15) Inbound links:
don't squander your time (or a perfectly good link) on smaller low-traffic sites. Instead spend your time going after high traffic, high quality sites. Good sites should have a PR (page ranking) of 4-6 depending on the market. You can find out what a site's page ranking is by downloading the Google toolbar which comes with a PR feature built in.

16) Start an email newsletter:
while it may not seem like a newsletter that you email can drive traffic to your site you'd be surprised at the effectiveness of this type of promotion. If your newsletter (like your articles) is interesting and relevant to your audience, you'll find that it has a huge pass-through factor, meaning that it is passed from one email subscriber to another. Also, if you have an email newsletter you should never, ever go to a single event without your handy signup sheet. Yes, you can even use offline events to drive traffic to your web site.

17) And speaking of offline efforts:
if you're ever quoted in a magazine or other publication, make sure and mention your URL as it's appropriate to the topic. Don't be too pushy about this, but do not forget to tell folks you have a web site that may be a great resource for the topic of your interview.

18) If you have products to sell, why not get a store on eBay? This site gets a tremendous amount of traffic and on your sales page you're allowed to list your URL. It's another great way to get an inbound link and a way for people to find you.

19) Load a video on YouTube
and 57 other video sites (the rest listed on my Red Hot Internet Publicity blog).

20) While this isn't a tip per se, it's still important.
If you're going to go through all the trouble of getting traffic to your site, make sure your site is converting this traffic into something. Get folks to sign up for something, your newsletter, the RSS feed on your blog. Whatever it is, getting their email address will help you remarket to them when the time is right. Studies show that visitors landing on a site often don't buy the first time. That's ok! You want to get them into your marketing funnel so you can market to them again and again – not in a way that's obtrusive, offensive or downright annoying, but in a way that is helping them with their own mission.

Adsense optimization tips for more revenue

If you earn more revenue from Google adsense, you have to optimize your adsense ads on your website. These tips will help you to earn more and more.
Google Adsense is no doubt the world’s best ad network in contextual advertising. You can generate more revenue than that you are currently earning with just few fine tunings. They gave out some great adsense optimization tips that they have gathered over the past few years. The original Webinar transcript is very lengthy, so here’s a quick summary:

  • Ad Location - “the middle, above the fold location perform best.” Also “if you have an article page with a long body of text, the bottom of that article is actually pretty successful”
  • Ad Formats - “the top three formats are the 336×280 that you see on the page; the 300×250 medium rectangle; and then the 160×600 wide skyscraper.” Additionally “the wider ad formats are doing better than the other ones and the reason is that they actually take up fewer lines. And so with every additional line, you have a chance of losing that interested user.”
  • Ad Colors - Pick colors that blend well with the site. Matches the background color, and compliments the site. Make them feel like a part of the site. They give an example where a customer went from blended background to yellow, and clicks dropped 65%
  • Ad Blindness - if the colors stick out too much, readers may immediatly identify them as ads and not even look at them. Also frequent readers may stop reading ads so you could alternate positioning and colors to get their attention. “The more you blend in with the site, the less chance that ad blindness will occur.”
  • Experiment - this was a big theme in the webinar echoed by all experts. Use channels to test different colors, positioning, and formats to find out what works best. They show that you can more than double your revenue just by finding the right color, position, format combo.
  • Image Ads - If you want to maximize revenue they recommend turning them on. I personally disable them in my account, because I find them too distracting/annoying to the user. Yes you may increase your CPC, but you will probably decrease impressions over time.
  • Link Units - Don’t take up much space, and also “allows the user to refine what they’re interested in. So if they may not be interested in specific ads on your page, they might be interested in a particular topic, and by clicking on a link unit and a link in the link unit, they’ll be able to specify that they’re interested in that specific topic and get a lot more options and variety on the ads that might appear.” I also bet google remembers what they click on and then tries to generate better ads for the page… just my speculation.
  • AdSense For Search - You can use this for your site search, and you get a percentage of ad clicks.
  • Never click on your own ads - One of the callers asked the question “I was just noticing that someone asked about clicking on their own ads and it says you’re not supposed to. And I don’t remember reading that. And I occasionally do click on the ads… So is that detrimental in some way?” - I can’t believe they said that to google. Google’s response was: “Yes, that’s sort of chief among the terms and conditions”.
  • Impression Counter - Google confirmed that Page Impressions are counted when a public service ad (or alternate ad url or color) is displayed.
  • Your site is unique - all these things may not matter, the best location, format, and color is different for every site. So again, go experiment.

Latest news:Google takes a stand against domain tasters

Google takes a stand against domain tasters

google logoDomain tasting - also known as domain kiting - an underhanded exploitation of a loophole in domain name registration rules that allows unscrupulous SEO ad jockeys to grab a domain name and make money off of it without paying for it. What this means for legitimate web users is that they often can't get their hands on the domain names they want because the domain names are being wasted on these money making schemes.

One simple 5 day grace period loop hole has been the backdoor for domain tasting scammers, who will "try out" a domain name for the 5 day free grace period, stocking it full of generic AdSense ads and other money-making window dressing. Google aims to put a stop to this nefarious practice.

From Information Week: Google is planning to introduce a system to detect a form of domain registration abuse known as domain kiting. In so doing, the company stands to lose millions in advertising revenue, though it may gain far more in user trust and goodwill.

A gain of "far more" in user trust is a major understatement, in my opinion. This kind of action might just get Google over the negative feedback resulting from their Google Health announcement. The Google machine is planning to fight off the tasters and kiters by creating a new Google algorithm just to track them.

Google is famous for their accurate algorithms and this is expected to be no exception. When the new detection system finds evidence that a site is a domain taster site, Google will now pull the AdSense for Domains ads from it. Once the source of revenue is gone for the scammers, the site should start to dry up, in theory.

The kited domains are spam, and often have issues with malware and other problems. You would think that people would be smart enough not to click on the ads when they get directed to one of these pages that are so obviously devoid of content, but click people do. As long as the pages make money, domain kiters and domain tasters will continue to push the envelope of acceptable internet behavior.

Google and ICANN both hope that better control of domain kiting and domain tasting will help stabilize the domain naming system. Currently the system is under duress from the stress of domain kiting and other money making schemes, and has been battling a loss of consumer trust and reliability. In related news, ICANN has begun a push to be freed from its tied to the government, a move which may add another layer of strength to the fight against internet scammers.

Google Takes Aim At Domain Tasting Profiteers

Google is planning to introduce a system to detect a form of domain registration abuse known as domain kiting. In so doing, the company stands to lose millions in advertising revenue, though it may gain far more in user trust and goodwill.

Registrants of Internet domains generally have a five-day grace period between the time a domain is registered and the time payment for the domain is due. This five-day period is used by domain profiteers for domain tasting -- testing the ad revenue generated at a given domain and then returning unprofitable domains -- and for domain kiting -- deleting newly registered domains within the grace period then immediately re-registering them to reset the grace period and postpone payment.

Because domain kiting is essentially a perpetual motion scheme for domain tasting, curtailing kiting will limit tasting. In January 2007, VeriSign said that among the top 10 domain registrars, 95% of all deleted .com and .net domain names were the result of domain tasting.

"We have long discouraged domain kiting as a practice," Google (NSDQ: GOOG) said in an e-mailed statement. "In order to more effectively deter it, we are launching a new domain kiting detection system. If we determine that a domain is being kited, we will not allow Google ads to appear on the site. We believe that this policy will have a positive impact for users and domain purchasers across the Web."

As of Feb. 11, Google plans to begin blocking AdSense for Domains ads from appearing on kited domains. The company did not provide further details about how its kiting detection system will work.

Google's AdSense for Domains program allows domain registrants to generate Web pages full of ads where no Web site content yet exists. The idea is that putting ads on these "parked domains" provides a useful service to online visitors who would otherwise encounter error pages or "site coming soon" notices. Typically, these pages full of ads perform best when they're associated with and relevant to a domain name someone is likely to type directly into a browser's address bar. Critics of the practice consider such pages little more than spam or doorways to malware.

In June, the Internet Corporation for Assigned Numbers and Names (ICANN), the organization that oversees the domain name system, issued a report on the possible consequences of domain tasting, including the destabilization of the domain name system, greater consumer confusion, increased costs and burdens on legitimate registrants, and the facilitation of trademark abuse and criminal activity.

Two months later, ICANN solicited feedback from the Internet community about domain tasting, an inquiry that hinted at possible willingness to curb abuses.

Google has had to contend with the problems ICANN foresaw. Having stepped up its involvement over the past two years in keeping its index free of spam sites, malware sites, and trademark exploiters of various sorts, Google appears to have finally come to the conclusion that the revenue generated by catering to domain profiteers isn't worth the cost.

Google to weed out AdSense freeloaders, latest news

The latest news of Google is published here. I think you will be benefited to hear this news. So read this article carefully and make comments on it.

Google Inc. will be placing a detection system on one of its advertising programs in an effort to stamp out a practice used to generate income from domain names without paying for them.

The practice, called "domain kiting," takes advantage of a five-day grace period that exists when registering domain names with the Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN), the group that oversees the registry of domain names.

Originally designed to allow people to rectify mistakes — such as spelling errors — the grace period has since become controversial because automation allows savvy computer users to sample domain names in large numbers and keep those that might generate ad revenue. This practice is called "domain tasting."

Repeated registering skirts domain fees

"Domain kiting" takes the practice one step further, with registrants canceling their domain name before the grace period expires and immediately re-registering it, a process that can continue indefinitely and allow a person to avoid ever paying for the domain name.

The practice can be profitable, particularly if the registrant uses a service like Google Inc.'s AdSense for Domains or Yahoo Inc.'s Domain Match on the website. This programs allow AdSense advertisements keyed to the domain name to be placed on the otherwise empty website. When computer users click on those ads, both Google and the domain site owner get a percentage of the ad revenue generated.

While advertisers might not care how traffic is directed to their sites, legitimate websites that rely on Google AdSense ads to generate revenue have long disliked the domain kiting practice

Google ads won't appear on 'kited' sites

Now, Google is doing something about it, the company said in a statement Friday. Its new kiting detection system is to take effect Feb. 11.

"We have long discouraged domain kiting as a practice," the company said. "In order to more effectively deter it, we are launching a new domain kiting detection system. If we determine that a domain is being kited, we will not allow Google ads to appear on the site. We believe that this policy will have a positive impact for users and domain purchasers across the web."

Jay Westerdal, president of Name Intelligence Inc., a company that analyzes domain-name patterns, first reported Google's plans on his Domain Tools blog on Thursday, citing Google sources that said the company would stop the practice by not allowing registrants to make money from websites that are less than five days old.

Such a policy would also impact domain tasting, not just domain kiting.

Last year, Name Intelligence Inc. released figures suggesting that in December 2006, 1.2 million domain names were being "tasted" each day, up from 7,200 two years earlier.

Adsense policy is changed for refferal ads

This is a shocking news for us that Google has changed their policies about adsense refferal bonus. I already created some refferal accounts in our region. So I am now loser for this new declaration by Google.
Change in Adsense policy for refferal ads

If you are non USA publisher displaying Adsense referral advertisement on your website , you have reason to have anger on Adsense team.

Yesterday , the official adsense blog announced that they are going to make changes to Adsense referral programme policies.

Change No.1 : Change In Payment System
If Today, by clicking referral unit advertisement on your website someone joins the AdSense and makes $5 within 180 days you get a reward payment of $5. If he/she makes $100 within 180 days , then you will be rewarded payment of $250. Through Your website If 25 people who make $100 within a 180 day period you get a bonus payment of $2000

But Now Onwards ...
If you refer someone to AdSense who makes $100 within a 180 day period you get only $100.

Change No.2 Adsense Publishers outside of North America, Latin America, and Japan, will be retired from adsense referral programme.
I being being from India , can not continue adsense referral programme now onwards. Interesting to see that they are emphasizing the origin of publisher's country and not where the users come from to the website.

I never liked to display referral ads on my blogs , but those like Darren Rowse who are making huge money through adsense referral programme , will be at loss.

Google and Facebook participate DataPortability.org

This is a great news for Dataportability that Google and Facebook join there.

Dataportability.org brings together google, plaxo, and facebook
A storm-in-a-waterglass gathering more and more momentum, dataportability.org welcomes new members. Before they were heating up the storm, now individual corporate representatives of Scoble, Plaxo, and Facebook, are sitting on one virtual table.

Comments of people about this issue:

With any luck, I’m sure you’ll be kicked off of Facebook and other sites at least once before anything is done with Data Portability. I think it’s amusing everyone considers you some sort of Data Patriot for essentially being Plaxo’s willing guinea pig (with other bloggers who you always fail to mention). If a company asked you to violate a law to test software, would you? Or have you already? If Facebook hadn’t kicked you off and given you a chance to throw a public tantrum, would you have told everyone about your experiment?

The single question you seemed to have refused to answer is: what if even a single person on Facebook, in your friends list, likes being on Facebook because they have rules against things like you did? Or do you hold those people in as much contempt because they aren’t likely to enjoy your opinion on rulebreaking?

Breaking News:

Technirvana sends us to ReadWriteWeb for the scoop on the announcement this morning that representatives from Google and Facebook are joining the DataPortability Workgroup. Quoting:

"The group is working on a variety of projects to foster an era in which users can take their data from the websites they use to reuse elsewhere... Good bye customer lock-in, hello to new privacy challenges. If things go right, today could be a very important day in the history of the internet. The non-participation of Google and Facebook, two companies that hold more user data and do more with it than almost any other consumer service on the market, was the biggest stumbling block to the viability of the project. These are two of the most important companies in recent history — what's being decided now is whether they will be walled-garden, data-horders or truly open platforms tied into a larger ecosystem of innovation with respect for user rights and sensible policies about data."

New Myspace proxies: how to use?

New myspace proxies are created in 2008 which are fast and free. This myspace proxy servers are so easy to use for any students of schools & colleges in USA. So I think, at first you have to learn how to use these myspace proxy.

There are actually two or three different ways in which you can access MySpace even if it has been blocked through methods such as a filtering system. One of the most popular and effective ways to handle this is with a proxy.

First, let’s cover what a proxy is, how it works and then how you can apply it to access sites like MySpace that might have been blocked.

In any type of situation a proxy acts as a sort of stand-in. In essence, it just steps in and holds the place for something or someone else. In this case, a proxy server can step in and hold your place online, allowing you to access a site that has been blocked. It works because the filter is looking for sites that it wants to block such as MySpace and others and not the proxy website.

As you probably know, when you type in the URL for MySpace on a computer that has a filtering software, you run up against a firewall and it won’t allow you to access the site. Bummer!

By using a proxy website; however, instead of typing in the address for MySpace you enter the URL for the proxy web server. On most such servers, you will then see a box where you can enter the URL for the site that you really want to visit and through the proxy web server you will be taken right to it. The filtering system on the computer doesn’t catch it because as far as it’s concerned you are visiting the proxy web site. The site you wish to see is loaded onto the proxy’s server. The server will then communicate with the site you want to visit and that is communicated to your browser.

Not only can you access pages that would normally be restricted but you can also do so anonymously without any fear of leaving details about your and the server that might would have otherwise been collected during your visit. There is no trace of your IP address left and no one will be able to see what you have been doing. In a nutshell the proxy server takes the place of your IP address.

Whether you’re having problems because of a restricted network, a firewall or filtering program you can safely and easily access any site that you wish without leaving any details regarding your visit or having any concerns about spyware being downloaded to your computer. Rather ingenious, hmmm?

One word of caution about proxy sites; however. Filtering systems are catching on to this practice and it’s possible that a good filtering system could filter out some of the proxy sites to keep you from even getting to those sites to access MySpace. Like everything else; however, proxy sites are popping up all over the place and it is highly unlikely that the filtering software that is installed on the computer you are using would be able to filter out all of the proxy sites. So, you might have to try one or two before you get to one that isn’t being filtered out by the software but it can be done.

Proxy servers give you back the control you want, all with the ability to view any site you want, safely and securely.

Online Web-based Proxies for 2008

In 2008,Some brand new proxy lists are needed for Myspace, Facebook, Youtube, Bebo and many blocked sites which are very popular in USA, UK, Canada etc. So in order to unlock these sites new proxy sites are badly needed in those countries.

Most of the web based proxy is free, although some has fee-based features that need to pay to gain access to those features. Some proxy has been blocked too, but keep trying for the one that works. By using the web proxy or anonymizer, MySpace users can browse the MySpace website, profiles, login to MySpace, posting comments and blogs and other activities. One thing of note is that there are PHP and CGI-based proxy, and to be able to log in properly to MySpace or Gmail or other services, you may need to use CGI proxy.

Web-based proxy server allows user to just type in an URL (such as www.myspace.com) on a web page and all connections and traffic to and from the destination URL will be redirected via the proxy, making as it the traffic is originating from the proxy itself, thus circumventing the domain based URL filtering blocking system. The list of such web based proxy servers include:

New Search Engine Trends in 2008

Last couple of days I find some new articles about seo. All of these articles say about the new trends in search engine in 2008. When I visit the searchenginewatch.com, I find an important article about the search engine by William Flaiz who is vice president of search engine optimization (SEO)and web analytics at Avenue A | Razorfish.

I think this article is very important for our web masters as well as SEO specialists. So I publish his opinions here about search engine.

Universal Search Means Universal Competition

Depending on who you talk to, Google took the ball from Ask and ran with it last year, moving universal search into the mainstream. Now users may see images, a news story, or even video appear on the search results page for a particular query.

This trend spread across all the major engines in 2007 and continues to extend into local search. This means more competition for our clients in the SERPs (define). Clients must now not only optimize their Web pages, but their digital assets as well.

Search Gets Social

One of the big trends in 2007 was the importance and influence of social media on the search landscape. This goes beyond the use of the social tagging sites such as de.licio.us and StumbleUpon.

For one of our large publisher clients last year, our most successful SEO recommendation was the addition of social media badges to each of their stories. This simple recommendation not only led to additional traffic from new sources, it also led to a positive impact on the overall rankings of the pages tagged by readers. While this trend started in 2007, I believe it will continue to grow and influence SEO even more in 2008.

SEO Implementation Headache Still Pounding

Would you spend hundreds of thousands of dollars on blueprints for a house you never intended to build? I hope not.

The lack, or incorrect implementation, of SEO recommendations by clients is still a constant headache. Every year, companies come to us asking for our best team, stating their commitment to SEO and the need to drive traffic to their Web sites.

Although they spend a lot of money on recommendations, we continue to see less than a 50 percent implementation rate. At 50 percent implementation, clients are often far better off than where they were, but they're not nearly recognizing the traffic they could be or getting the best ROI (define) for their money.

As I said, it's a constant headache.

All Flash & No Function

A large contingency of site owners insist on having all Flash, AJAX, or even Silverlight Web sites. They want the best user experience possible and have put their faith in these technologies. Unfortunately, Flash and its buddies still don't play well with search engines.

In 2007, this trend showed no signs of slowing. If anything, we saw more requests for these types of sites with the additional requirement of the sites being search engine friendly. This is possible, but integrating SEO tactics in this way requires upfront planning and usually additional money.

Defending the SEO Craft

As with almost anything in this world, once a subject gains recognition and popularity, more people will claim to be an expert on it. In 2007, SEO was no different.

Several clients we've worked with this year (which is several more than we have in previous years) have come to us after a poor experience with an SEO "expert." Many people are quick to bill themselves as search gurus after reading SEO books and visiting Web sites such as Search Engine Watch.

Reading about SEO is not the same as actually practicing it. As I wrote in "Wherefore Art thou SEO?" you need to do your homework in order to choose the right SEO agency for your Web site.

CMOs Starting to Get It

Perhaps 2007 will be remembered as the year where clients began to figure it out. We've seen more emphasis put on search this past year than any previous year, and we're glad to see it.

We now receive RFPs that specifically state the new Web site design must be search engine friendly, which means going beyond the code, working with the user experience and design teams, and making sure you have a bona fide SEO expert onboard.

For all the advances in search last year, it's the human component that matters most, and clients are finally beginning to understand the value of SEO. Let's hope that that trend continues into 2008.

Copyrights, Trademarks and Patents, from sitepronews

If you start a new business in web industry , you have to know about the copyright, trademark, patents etc. These are very important for your long term business. So you should read this article carefully and gather important knowledge about these topics.

You are a business owner with a web presence. During a routine Google search for your page ranking, you discover something disturbing. There is another company out there with a name very similar to yours and almost identical content on their website. What do you do? Is your company name and website content automatically protected by copyright law? Should you have registered your company name as a trademark? Can you demand that they change their name and dismantle their website immediately?

Intellectual Property can be a confusing topic, and one that all business owners should know about. Sadly however, many entrepreneurs simply don't. Intellectual property is in very simple terms an idea that legally belongs to somebody, be they a company or an individual. Only the owner of that idea, or somebody the owner has a legal agreement with can use the idea. Generally, the owner of the idea is usually its creator unless someone paid them to create the idea, in which case the idea's owner is the person who paid for the idea. There are different kinds of intellectual property, but for the purpose of this article, we will focus on copyright, patent and trademark.

Patent – A patent protects the creators of new inventions. An invention can include anything from a new product or business method to a recipe. If you decide to patent your invention, there a few things you should know. First, you will need to apply for a patent in every country where you would like your invention to be protected.

Secondly, getting a patent is going to cost you a pretty penny. You will have to pay thousands of dollars to patent your idea and it will take a minimum of 2 years (probably more) before you are granted a patent. Also, your precious invention will no longer remain a secret since your patent application will be made public once your application is submitted. If all of this wasn't enough bad news, patent protection generally only lasts for twenty years from the date of your application. Phew! On the up side, once your patent is accepted, you can sue anyone who tries to manufacture or sell your invention.

It's worth mentioning here that another method to keep your invention protected is to keep the method of manufacturing it a 'trade secret'. If you choose this process, of course, in order to manufacture your product, you will have to tell somebody. You would have to have anyone who would learn your secret sign a confidentiality agreement. Consult a lawyer if you plan to use this method.

Trademark – Trademarks are the marks used to distinguish one company's products or services from another's. They can include a product name, a slogan, and any other mark that is deemed to be unique to a company such as a logo or unique packaging. As a rule, you can't trademark descriptive words, geographical names or a person's name. You also cannot register a business' name. You can however, register part of a name used to identify a product or service. For example "Kellogg's Company" is the owner of the "Kellogg's" trademark and the "Rice Krispies" trademark. You cannot register a trademark similar to one that is already in use by another company.

Beware; a trademark does not have to be registered in order to prevent others from using it. If a company is using an unregistered trademark in your geographical area, they can still prevent you from using it. You could perform a search in a trademark database and find later that you are using another company's unregistered trademark. If you find another company in a completely different industry using your unregistered trademark, you probably won't be able to do anything about it if they are not your competitors or if they are not in your geographical vicinity. Protection of a registered trademark however, is much stronger than an unregistered one, and once you have a registered trademark, you can prevent competitors from using it, or confusingly similar ones anywhere in the country in which your trademark is registered.

Copyright – Any written text, artistic work, or computer program is automatically protected by copyright. Anything you or I write, be it published, online text or unpublished, handwritten text, is copyrighted. Also anything we draw, paint, photograph, film, or compose is also protected by copyright. Copyright can be registered, but it doesn't have to be in order for it to be illegal for individuals to copy someone else's work. Copyright also lasts for an extremely long time. Usually it lasts the duration of the author's life plus fifty years at which point it becomes a part of the public domain and can be used by anyone.

Factual information cannot be copyrighted. For example, this article is based on fact. Although you cannot copy my article and claim to have authored it yourself, you can take the facts included in the article and use them in your written material. If you would like to use a very small portion of someone else's written work, this is usually acceptable as long as you credít the author.

Finally, what do you do if someone uses your work without your permission? Your first step should be to contact the individual. You can usually either go to the contact page on the offender's web site or go to WhoIs.com and enter the offender's domain to find contact information. If your initial communication doesn't get results, you should then send a 'cease and desist order'. For sample orders, just perform a search on 'cease and desist orders'. Finally if still no action is taken by the offending party, contact their web host and advise them of the situation and finally, contact search engines and make them aware of the situation. These actions should render the offender's website useless or at the very least give them enough trouble to convince them to remove the copied material.

RSS for web marketing, Basic info.

The basic introduction of RSS

RSS is very important for internet marketing as well as blog marketing. So you will learn here some basic info about RSS and its importance in web marketing, blog marketing and feed marketing.

What is RSS?

You probably have seen this three-letter acronym in the course of your internet surfing. RSS stands for Really Simple Syndication or Rich Site Summary; syndicating means republishing an article that comes from another source such as a website. A RSS feed is a means of publicizing updates about websites. It may or may not include a summary and photos of the latest posting. But those that provide summaries (thus Rich Site Summary) allow users to skim through the article so that they can decide later on if they want to access the website source. The RSS feed usually contains the title of the update originating from the website. It is also usually the link to the website source.

What are the Benefits of RSS?

RSS provides benefits to both readers (users) and web publishers.

1. It gives you the latest updates. Whether it is about the weather, new music, software upgrade, local news, or a new posting from a rarely-updated site, you can learn about the latest as soon as it comes out.

2. It saves on surfing time. Since an RSS feed provides a summary of the related article, it saves the user's time by helping s/he decide on which items to prioritize when reading or browsing the net.

3. It gives the power of subscription to the user. Users are given a free-hand on which websites to subscribe to in their RSS aggregators which they can change at any time they decide differently.

4. It lessens the clutter in your inbox. Although your email address will be required to enjoy the services of online RSS aggregators, RSS does not use your email address to send the updates.

5. It is sp@m free. Unlike email subscriptions, RSS does not make use of your email address to send updates thus your privacy is kept safe from sp@m mails.

6. Unsubscribing is hassle-free. Unlike email subscriptions where the user is asked questions on why s/he is unsubscribing and then the user is asked to confirm unsubscribing, all you have to do is to delete the RSS feed from your aggregator.

7. It can be used as an advertising or marketing tool. Users who subscribe to or syndicate product websites receive the latest news on products and services without the website sending sp@m mail. This is advantageous to both the web user and the website owner since advertising becomes targeted; those who are actually interested in their products are kept posted.

What are the Drawbacks of RSS?

The disadvantages of RSS stem from user-preference concerns and the fact that it is a new technology.

1. Some users prefer receiving email updates over an RSS feed.

2. Graphics and photos do not appear in all RSS feeds. For conciseness and ease of publication, RSS feeds do not display the photos from the original site in announcing the update except for some web-based aggregators.

3. The identity of the source website can be confusing. Since RSS feeds do not display the actual URL or name of the website, it can sometimes get confusing on what feed a user is actually reading.

4. Publishers cannot determine how many users are subscribed to their feed and the frequency of their visits. Moreover, they do not know the reasons why users unsubscribe which could be important in improving their advertising.

5. RSS feeds create higher traffic and demands on the server. Most readers still prefer the whole update over a brief summary of the entry, thus they still access the site.

6. Since it is a new technology, many sites still do not support RSS.

How Do I Start Using RSS?

There are two things needed: an RSS feed and an RSS aggregator or reader. The RSS feed comes from an RSS-supported website. There are also websites that provide a directory of RSS feeds from different websites. An RSS aggregator is used to read the RSS feed from the source website. It scans and collects data on the latest RSS feeds from the worldwide web.

An aggregator comes in two forms: a downloadable program, also known as a desktop aggregator, and an online or web-based aggregator. Downloadable aggregators may require payment before they can be acquired, while internet-based aggregators are usually free. All you need to do is to register an account and you are ready to use their services. Both versions allow you to customize, or choose, which RSS feeds to enter. Paid aggregators are usually chosen by more experienced users and they usually allow more freedom in customizing feeds.

RSS-Specifications.com

1. Choose an RSS aggregator to use. For beginners, web-based aggregators are recommended since they are usually user-friendly.

2. Scan the homepage of your target website for the RSS or XML button. It contains the RSS code you need to enter in the aggregator. Copy this code. Syndic8 provides a directory of websites that support RSS.

3. Paste the code (which contains the URL of the website) in your aggregator. There is a space provided for pasting the code.

After you have done these three easy steps, you can start reading the RSS feeds coming from the website. New postings appear as they are published in real time at the source website.

RSS and Internet Marketing

The original idea of RSS came from Netscape, where the intention was to provide a means for users to customize their personal homepages with links to websites that were of interest to them, similar to bookmarking websites.

The application of RSS to internet marketing was an unforeseen development to RSS technology developers. Since users are given the freedom to add RSS feeds to their aggregators, those who are interested in particular products and services available on the internet can now be notified real time. Marketing becomes more specific to interested people and not a hit-and-miss operation.

Medium to big-scale companies who intend to use RSS for marketing their products and services should consider linking up with email account providers, (e.g. Yahoo, MSN, Google mail); networking websites (e.g. Friendster, Multiply, My Space, Hi5); websites of newspapers and television network websites (e.g. New York Times, CNN). Smaller companies can also look at networking websites as well as personal blog websites (e.g. Blogspot) and websites of clubs and organizations that would probably make use of their products or services e.g. a fishing supplies store can look for the website of their local fishing club for possible RSS marketing.

Clearly, RSS is an innovation in worldwide web information management as well as online marketíng. We can expect better RSS technology in the not-so-distant future as its popularity increases among users and website owners alike.

Expired Domain and its importance

Expired Domain is hot cake in web industry because of some reasons. If you learn following FAQ , then you can realize this thrth. You also make money from these forgone domain name.

What is an expired Domain Name?
An expired Domain Name is a Domain Name which was previously registered but the owner did not re-register it. If a Domain Name expires, it becomes available for anyone to register.

Why are Expired Domains so Popular?
One reason is that if the domain name itself has a lot of link popularity, it will have an established source of traffic. What this means to you is if you snap up an Expired Domain with an established source of traffic, you will have a site with instant traffic.
To prove that expired Domain Names with traffic not only exist, but exist abundantly, I will show you a site which sells Traffic from Expired Domains. That's all they do!
The site is: http://www.adbuytraffic.com and they openly state on their FAQ page where the traffic comes from. Expired Domains! Here is that page: http://www.adbuytraffic.com/faq.html#6

How to Locate Expired Domains?
I will show you how to locate Expired Domains for Free. The money you save can be used for other things such as web hosting.
But first, just to see how all this works, check out http://www.bizmint.com. They will charge you a monthly fee to access their database of Expired Domains.
Now go to http://www.deleteddomains.com where you can search for Deleted and Expired Domain Names for FREE.

What Program Enables an Expired Domain Name Search?
The above sites all use some kind of Script which will search for Expired Domains. These Scripts are usually written in Perl and will run on a UNIX web host which supports Perl.
There is a couple of ways to get your hands on one of these special programs.
1. Go to http://www.hotscripts.com or http://www.scriptsearch.com and search for the term "Expired Domain Name" You will get several results which contain Free and Fee scripts. Remember to try your own search terms too.
2. Go to http://www.scriptlance.com and post a project up for bid. You will get programmers from all over the world bidding on your project. The beauty about this is that you can specify exactly what you want your script to do and you will most likely pay much less for a full featured script. Plus you will own the rights to the script.

So How Can You Profit from Expired Domains?
In his course, Corey Rudl explains one website model that should interest you right now. The website model goes like this:
Find a service which somebody is charging money for on the Internet.
Offer a similar service for Free and have no sales messages on the site in the early days.
Corey goes on to explain that after thousands of people link to your site, you can convert the site into some kind of profit model by selling ad space, your own product that you have created or affiliate products etc.
So clearly, the ones who make the most money from Expired Domain Names are the ones at the top of the Pecking-Order.
Will you make the most money by joining an Expired Domain names affiliate program or will you make more if you have thousands of Affiliates selling your product or service.

What would you rather do?
Pay 10 bucks a month to access a database of expired domains or pay 10 bucks a month for web hosting and own the whole deal?
What if you offered Free Expired Domain Name Search on your site but also offered Domain Name Registrations on the search results page?
To see an example of a regular Free Domain Name Search and Domain Name Registration business go to http://www.domainsearch.com.
